Mahindra Cuts Prices on 7-Seater SUVs in Australia

Mahindra Australia is now offering significant discounts on two of its popular seven-seater SUVs: the Scorpio and the XUV700. The deals, available until December 31, 2025 (or while supplies last), provide savings of up to $4,000, making these vehicles even more competitive in the Australian market.

XUV700: A New Price Leader

The XUV700, already positioned as a budget-friendly option compared to rivals like the Nissan X-Trail and Mitsubishi Outlander, now boasts a starting price of just $35,990 before on-road costs with the $4,000 discount. This undercuts the Chery Tiggo 8, making it one of the most affordable seven-seaters available in Australia.

The entry-level XUV700 comes well-equipped with features like 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, leatherette upholstery, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Passengers in all three rows benefit from dual-zone climate control, curtain airbags, and a panoramic sunroof.

The higher-spec AX7L variant is available for $38,990 (after the $4,000 discount), adding electric door handles, wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, telescopic steering, ventilated front seats, and a premium 12-speaker audio system.

Both XUV700 models are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 149kW and 380Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Fuel consumption is rated at 8.3L/100km, with a 1500kg towing capacity.

Scorpio: Rugged Capability at a Lower Cost

For buyers seeking a seven-seat SUV with four-wheel drive and a robust ladder-frame chassis – similar to the Toyota Prado and Ford Everest – the Scorpio is now $3,000 cheaper. Both the Z8 and Z8L variants are eligible for the discount.

The Scorpio is powered by a 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine delivering 129kW and 400Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Its electronically selectable ‘4XPLOR’ four-wheel drive system includes low-range gearing and a mechanical rear differential lock, offering serious off-road capability.

The Z8 comes standard with six seats (2+2+2 layout), keyless entry, leather interior, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and a sunroof. The Z8L adds a seven-seat configuration (with a middle-row bench), side steps, a front camera, a Sony audio system, and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Towing capacity is rated at 2500kg.

Safety Ratings Pending

Mahindra has yet to have either the XUV700 or Scorpio tested by ANCAP, but the company has stated its goal to achieve five-star safety ratings for all models by 2026.

These discounts make Mahindra’s seven-seater SUVs compelling options for Australian buyers seeking value and practicality. The XUV700 especially stands out as a budget-friendly choice with a surprising level of features, while the Scorpio delivers rugged capability at a competitive price.
