The Nissan Skyline Returns

Seventy years. That is how long this name has lingered in the air. Now the sky is clearing.

Nissan knows the score. The brand has stumbled in recent years. Yet they remember why the Skyline matters. They are preparing a new generation. The outlook improves so the car follows.

Teasers already dropped. No waiting game this time.

“Aggressive and modern, with proportions that reflect the past.”
— Alfonso Albaisa

What do they look like? Sharp edges replace curves.

What is in the Name?

Still Skyline. Always will be.

Prince Motor Company started this back in 1957 before the 1966 merger. Twelve generations later the badge stays put. In Japan it is a Nissan. In America it will wear Infiniti clothes. Probably replaces the Q50 or the Q60. Does the badge really change how it drives?

Visual Identity

The design director said it is inspired by history not a museum exhibit. Look at the back. Those round taillights are back. They protrude. Just like before.

Front fascia hints at vertical lights. A large grille. Huge intakes on the sides. Our renders show a slab-sided box. No gimmicky passenger screens either. Just physical knobs for volume.

We expect a digital cluster. A big center screen. But keep the buttons real. Please.

Under the Hood

Twin-turbo 3.0L V6. Yes, again.

The Z Nismo gets 420 hp. The new Skyline pushes harder. Maybe 450 horsepower.

Will there be a stick shift? Yes. Expect it. Rear-wheel drive will rule the enthusiast models. Automatic and AWD options exist too. Not everyone lives on track. Most people have grocery stores to visit.

Launch Window

Early 2027 reveal. On sale in Japan by 2028. US Infiniti lots get them around the same time.

Pricing slots between the Z and the GT-R. Look at the Cadillac CT5-V. It costs $60k for 360 hp and an automatic only. The Skyline with manual transmission? Mid-six figures starting. Expect $65,000 minimum for the hot one.

Money changes hands. Engines fire up. The legend walks again.

Do you trust Nissan to finish what they started? Or will we be left waiting for the keys? 🗝️
