High-end e-bikes like the Orbea Diem command premium prices for a reason. You’re paying for refined engineering and European assembly. It’s a different story when you encounter floor prices that defy logic, especially when the spec sheet looks almost too good to be true. Enter the Fiido T2.
This new arrival in the electric cargo bike market is a longtail model from China. The base price sits at €1,499. That figure includes a €300 discount and free accessories. For that money, Fiido is promising a lot.
The bike weighs 39.5 kilos. Despite that heft, it boasts a useful payload of roughly 100 kilos. The rear rack can handle two children, one adult, or massive pannier bags. There is also front rack capacity for additional storage. Stability is key here. To keep the center of gravity low, the wheels are limited to a modest 20-inch diameter. They roll on wide, chunky tires designed to smooth out urban potholes.
Massive battery capacity
Comfort is addressed via a front suspension fork. It offers six centimeters of travel. Power comes from a 750-watt motor mounted at the rear. While impressive, the output is electronically capped at 250 watts to comply with local regulations.
The real headline is the energy storage. The bike carries a nearly 1 kWh battery. Most e-bikes in this class offer significantly less capacity. The battery is removable for charging. Fiido claims an autonomy of about 100 kilometers. That figure is theoretical, of course.
You get a 7-speed derailleur and five levels of electric assistance. Braking is handled by hydraulic systems with 230-millimeter rotors. The specs are solid on paper. For €1,499, the Fiido T2 looks like a steal. The question remains whether it will hold up over time. The bike is available now while the discount lasts. We’ll see if the build quality matches the spec sheet once the miles add up.
